Teen shot during Halloween toilet paper prank

ESTILL SPRINGS, Tenn., Oct. 31 (UPI) -- A Tennessee man was arrested after shooting at youths covering their school principal's yard with toilet paper as a likely Halloween prank, police said.

The incident, known as "rolling a yard," took place Oct. 20 in Estill Springs, Tenn., on the property of Ken Bishop, principal of Huntland School in nearby Huntland.

Dale Bryant Farris, 65, a neighbor of Bishop, fired at least two shots from a shotgun, with pellets striking a boy, 15, in the foot, knee, hand, thigh and side of his torso, Franklin County Sheriff's office spokesman Sgt. Chris Guess said.

"They [the youths] were not on his [Farris'] property, and they were not doing anything to his property," Guess said.

Bishop did not seek to file charges against the pranksters, some of whom attend his school. Farris faces charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported Thursday.

The number of youths involved in the prank was not reported.
