ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- An Altamonte Springs, Fla., high school teacher has been suspended for taping a student's hands together in class, officials said.

Greg Sims, a Lake Brantley High School science teacher, received a five-day suspension without pay, an Oct. 8 letter from school Superintendent Walt Griffin said.

The letter says Sims "taped a student's hands together, attempted top tape her mouth closed ... and taped her book bag to a pole in the classroom."

The suspension is the third of Sims' 25-year teaching career. In each case, he was found to have embarrassed female students, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Wednesday.
