PRYOR, Okla., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- The owner of an Oklahoma construction company and his wife died in the crash of a small plane in Arkansas, officials said Tuesday.
The couple were identified as Ivan and Adina Williams of Pryor, The (Pryor Creek)Times reported. They were the only people on board a Piper Saratoga plane that disappeared from radar Monday afternoon.
The Civil Air Patrol spotted the wreck Tuesday morning in Madison County, and ground crews reached it a short time later.
Officials said the plane was crossing Arkansas en route from Sylacauga, Ala., to Claremore, Okla. The pilot told air traffic controllers shortly before 3 p.m. Monday that he was having problems and was not heard from again.
Ivan Williams' family owns Williams Construction in Pryor.
