MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- The Minneapolis boy who managed to sneak onto a Delta flight to Las Vegas has been ordered to undergo therapy with his family.
A Hennepin County Judge Joseph Klein ruled Wednesday the boy, who slipped through security at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and onto a Delta plane without a boarding pass, will be removed from his home for a few weeks, during which he and his family will undergo an evaluation and therapy, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.
Klein said the boy's "health, safety and welfare" would be "endangered" if he were to return immediately to his mother, although there were no allegations the boy had been physically abused by his mother.
The mother is willing to work with county officials to help the boy, attorney Bob Paule said.
"She wants to get her family back together and have her son return home," Paule said.
The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for Nov. 20.
