Michigan teacher sentenced for sex with students

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- A former Michigan teacher was sentenced to eight to 15 years in prison after pleading no contest to charges she molested four male students ages 15 and 16.

Jamila Love Williams, 36, faced parents of the four boys at her sentencing who said their children were betrayed and significantly harmed by Williams' actions, the Grand Rapids (Mich.) Press reported Tuesday.

"You are a sick, sadistic child molester," one victim's mother said. "You don't deserve to be in society. You are a predator."

Williams was a math teacher at Grand Rapids University Prep Academy for six years. As part of her sentence she will no longer be allowed to have unsupervised contact with minors.

Court documents showed the abuse happened multiple times and in several locations, including in a locked classroom during school, at a Golden Corral restaurant, in an alley, in a car and in at least one instance inside a victim's home. When the victims would not comply with her demands for sex she would punish them by giving them bad grades.

Williams apologized for her actions but denied she was a sexual predator.

"I am not a predator," Williams said. "I did not prey on these young men."
