Georgia father gets 60 days for encouraging daughter to fight

DECATUR, Ga., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- A Georgia man was sentenced to 60 days in jail and a parenting class after he admitted he set up a fight between his daughter and a classmate.

Timothy Taylor, 45, pleaded guilty in DeKalb County, WSB-TV reported. He told a judge Tuesday he drove his daughter to a school bus stop in Clarkston where she planned to fight a classmate at Tucker Middle School.

A video of the fight was posted on Youtube and shows Taylor egging his 12-year-old daughter on.

"I was shocked. I wish I could say it's the only case we've had. We've heard of other instances where parents are encouraging not just bad behavior, but criminal behavior," Sherry Boston, the county solicitor general said.

Quateka Durden, the mother of the 14-year-old girl Taylor's daughter attacked, said she found it disturbing the attackers' parents were encouraging their daughter. Charges against the mother were dismissed.

Taylor was also ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.
