Houston bus rear-ended at stop; eight injured

HOUSTON, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Eight people were injured Wednesday when a car rear-ended a Metro bus in south Houston, a spokeswoman for Metro said.

The victims included the drivers of the bus and the car as well as a child, but none of the injuries was life-threatening, spokeswoman Margaret O'Brien Molina told The Houston Chronicle.

The newspaper said it was the second consecutive day in which a Metro bus had been involved in an injury accident. A bus was part of a chain-reaction wreck Tuesday that sent several people to the hospital and resulted in a citation for the driver.

Wednesday's crash occurred around 7 a.m. CDT when the bus was hit from behind at a bus stop.
