Autopsy reveals shooting victim was twin of man thought to have died

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- An autopsy of a man shot to death near Daytona Beach, Fla., revealed the victim was not the person believed killed but his twin brother, police said.

Jeriell Lesane, 28, of Daytona Beach, was the man who died, and not Terell Lesane, also of Daytona Beach, whose death was originally reported, Volusia County Sheriff's office spokesman Gary Davidson said.

Jeriell Lesane was shot early Saturday in a fight in the parking lot of a local bottle club, a facility for serving drinks brought in by patrons, the Orlando Sentinel reported Tuesday, adding the mistake in identifying the body was corrected by checking fingerprints.

Police said no arrests had been made, but seek a man captured on surveillance video who they describe as a person of interest.
