4 bodies found in California business jet wreckage

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Los Angeles County coroner staff Tuesday were removing the remains of four people killed in a fiery business jet crash in Santa Monica, Calif., officials said.

Two of the four victims were tentatively identified as a California construction company chief executive and his adult son, Mark and Luke Benjamin. The other two victims had yet to be identified, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The four were killed when their Cessna Citation veered off a runway at the Santa Monica airport Sunday evening and hit a hangar, bursting into flames.

Removal of the victims' remains was delayed while the crash site was stabilized.

It had yet to be determined why the jet, which had arrived in Santa Monica on a flight from Hailey, Idaho, was unable to stay on the runway.
