WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- An additional $11.5 million in humanitarian assistance has been provided for refugees from the Central African Republic, the U.S. State Department announced.
The funding will offer protection and activities for the nearly 70,000 refugees from the war-torn nation who escaped to Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Cameroon and the republic of the Congo, as well as the 30,000 new Darfur Sudanese refugees in Chad, the State Department said in a statement Friday.
