Hartford police Lt. Brian Foley said Officer Pam Stevens learned Rodriguez had worn the necklace at the time of his death and checked local shops to see if it had been sold.

Stevens located the jewelry in a second-hand shop, along with the name and photo of the person who sold the medallion to the shop, Foley said.

Tyquan Turner, 21, of Hartford, was arrested and charged with murder, conspiracy and weapons offenses. Lorenza Christian, 22, also of Hartford, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Both men were already in jail on unrelated charges, Foley said.
