Women selling positive pregnancy tests

NEW YORK, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Pregnant women in several U.S. cities are listing positive pregnancy tests for sale on Craigslist to dupe boyfriends or solicit cash, ABC News reported.

The positive pregnancy tests are selling for about $25 each and have been noted for sale in Chicago, New York, Houston and other cities, ABC said.

Some ads suggest using them as a way to trick longtime boyfriends into proposing marriage. At least one other ad suggested using the test to solicit money for an abortion -- cash that could later be used to pay for a vacation, the seller suggests.

Pregnancy tests track the presence of the female pregnancy hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin, which can only be found in a pregnant woman's urine.
