MOUNT CHARLESTON, Nev., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Rain-triggered flash floods destroyed parts of the Rainbow Canyon subdivision of Mount Charleston, Nev., officials said.
The floods, which were up to five feet deep in some areas, caused damage along Rainbow Canyon Boulevard in the town, wrecking homes and vehicles along the way, the Las Vegas Sun reported.
No injuries were reported.
Some residents lost power during the storm and floods, but power has since been restored.
"It is pretty messy along that road and up in that subdivision," said Deputy Chief Fernandez Leary of the Clark County Fire Department. "That road is out of commission right now."
A flood watch advisory has been issued for the area by the National Weather Service.
