Hord called a woman, described as possibly his girlfriend or ex-wife, to tell her of his actions, and she called police, who searched the apartment Hord and Gentry shared and found plastic bags containing body parts, Gastonia police Capt. Steve Duncan said.

Duncan said the two men shared the apartment for about two or three months, and the alleged homicide occurred after the men had some type of disagreement.
