BELLMORE, N.Y., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- A New York state man has been charged with the murder of a man he allegedly pushed to the tracks at a commuter rail station on Long Island.

The victim, a 49-year-old Freeport, N.Y., man, died just before 5 a.m. Saturday at the Long Island Railroad Station in Bellmore, WCBS-TV reported. Niheim Levy, 34, of Roosevelt, N.Y., was arrested and charged with murder and robbery.

Investigators said Levy pushed the other man on to the tracks during a violent argument on the platform. Police at first believed the man suffered a seizure but later found he had been pushed and was electrocuted after coming into contact with the third rail.

The man's identity was not released because his family had not yet been notified of his death.
