TRENTON, N.J., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- A New Jersey man has claimed one-third of a $411 million Powerball jackpot, state lottery officials say.
Mario Scarinci of Monmouth Junction emerged with little fanfare, The (Newark, N.J.) Star-Ledger reported. His identity was revealed Friday on the second page of a state news release.
CentralJersey.com reported Scarinci was with his two adult sons when he claimed the prize.
There were three winning tickets for the Aug. 7 jackpot drawing, two of them sold in New Jersey. Scarinci will get about $62 million after taxes.
A group of 16 Ocean County vehicle maintenance workers held one of the tickets and came forward this month. Each will get just under $4 million, with many saying a chunk of the money will go to repair homes damaged by Superstorm Sandy.
The third ticket was presented by an engineer in Minnesota.
