Three suspects plead guilty following note discovery

PENSACOLA, Fla., Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said three co-defendants pleaded guilty after court security deputies found a note written from one defendant to another.

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office said Joshua Burgess, 21, Chaz West, 20, and Marquise Williams were awaiting trial before Judge Jan Shackelford on charges of home invasion and armed robbery when the deputy discovered a note written by one of the suspects.

The note advised another of the defendants on what to say in court to keep their stories consistent, the sheriff's office said.

Information from the note led the three men to plead guilty to the charges, which stemmed from a Dec. 25 incident.
