70 sheep killed in Oregon tractor trailer rollover

ALBANY, Ore., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- A tractor trailer overturned in Oregon killing 70 of the 400 sheep on board, though neither farmworker in the vehicle was hurt, police said.

The truck was turning taking a curve at 45 mph on Berlin Road about 9:30 p.m., local time, Tuesday when it overturned, the Albany (Ore.) Democrat-Herald reported Wednesday.

Some of the sheep got loose after the accident and were wandering around on Mallard Creek Golf Course, the Linn County Sheriff's Office said.

Police haven't issued citations for the accident, which is still under investigation. The owner of the truck and sheep is Tony Wahl, the newspaper said.
