SAN DIEGO, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- The last of four brothers who ran a Mexican drug cartel was sentenced to federal prison Monday in San Diego.
U.S. District Judge Larry A. Burns gave Eduardo Arellano Felix a 15-year term, the maximum allowed under a plea deal reached in May, U-T San Diego reported. Felix pleaded guilty to conspiracy to launder money, and using and investing illicit drug proceeds.

Two of Felix's brothers -- Benjamin and Javier -- received prison terms previously and another brother, Ramon, died in a 2002 shootout in Mexico, the newspaper said.
"It was an audacious goal to take this cartel down and I'm extremely satisfied with the outcome," U.S. Attorney Laura Duffy said.
