Note, letters found in DiMaggio's burned home after kidnapping

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- A handwritten note and letters from Hannah Anderson were among items found at the burned southern California home of the teen's abductor, police say.

The items were included in a nine-page list of belongings police seized while executing a search warrant at the home of James DiMaggio, CNN reported Friday.

DiMaggio set the home on fire Aug. 4. The bodies of Hannah's mother and brother were found in the ruins the next day.

Other items on the list included camping equipment, rolls of duct tape, used condoms and ammunition.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department refused to disclose the contents of the handwritten note.

"Many portions of this investigation cannot be discussed," said spokeswoman Jan Caldwell. "Sorry this is one of them."

DiMaggio was shot and killed Aug. 10 by the FBI in a remote area of Idaho where he was holding the 16-year-old girl.
