KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 15 (UPI) -- The Missouri Supreme Court has set execution dates for convicted killers Allen L. Nicklasson and Joseph Paul Franklin.

Nicklasson, who was convicted along with co-defendant Dennis Skillicorn for the 1994 killing of Richard Drummond, is scheduled to be put to death on Oct. 23, and Franklin, who received a death sentence in 1997 for the 1977 killing of a man outside a St. Louis area synagogue, is scheduled to be executed on Nov. 20, The Kansas City (Mo.) Franklin was also convicted in a series of other racially motivated killings in other states, as well as the bombing of a synagogue.

Skillicorn was executed in 2007.

"The death penalty remains a legal punishment in our state," Missouri Attorney General Chris Koste said in a written statement. "By setting these execution dates, the court has taken an important step to see that justice is finally done for the victims and their families."
