Two charged with fraudulently obtaining luxury goods and services

AKRON, Ohio, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Two men were arrested in Ohio on conspiracy to defraud an aviation company and other firms out of $220,000 in goods and services, the FBI said.

Dante G. Dixon, 45, of Miami and Christopher L. Henderson, 32, of Akron, Ohio, are accused of conspiring with others to fraudulently obtain high-end charter flights, limousine services and luxury goods by misrepresenting themselves as employees of a well-known financial institution, the FBI said in a release.

U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman said the two appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kathleen Burke, who ordered them held until they can be transported to New Jersey.

The FBI release said Jet Aviation of Teterboro, N.J., was never paid for high-end charter flights and limousine car service valued at $175,790.

Other business defrauded included a Tiffany & Co. store in Bal Habour, Fla., and The W South Beach Hotel in Miami.

The FBI said the unnamed financial institution was not aware Dixon, Henderson and others were using its corporate identity.
