BOLIVAR, Mo., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- The trial of a man charged with planning to assault a Bolivar, Mo., movie theater audience will be moved to another county, court documents say.
Blaec Lammers, 21, was granted a change of venue Friday, moving his trial, to begin Dec. 16, from Polk County, Mo., to Henry County, KOLR-TV, Springfield, Mo., reported Monday.
Lammers, 21, is charged with making terroristic threats, first-degree assault and armed criminal action in plans he allegedly made to fire on the opening-night audience of the film "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 2" at a Bolivar, Mo., theater in 2012.
His mother contacted police after Lammers purchased two assault rifles, similar to those used in the Aurora, Colo., theater shooting, and said she was afraid he might take them to the Bolivar Theater, KOLR-TV said.
Police said he told them, during questioning, he purchased the weapons with the intent of shooting the theatergoers.
Court documents indicate Lammers later said he had purchased a ticket for the movie, but thought he might run out of ammunition and decided to target a local Walmart store instead.
