MIAMI, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Tropical Storm Gil churned far off the Pacific Coast of Mexico Saturday evening and Dorian petered out in the Atlantic off South Carolina, forecasters said.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami said in its 5 p.m. EDT advisory that Gil was generating sustained winds near 60 miles per hour about 1,630 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California. The storm was heading to the west at 13 mph.
Gil was expected to turn to the west-southwest during the next two days, the forecasters said.
The hurricane center said Dorian had deteriorated into a post-tropical cyclone about 160 miles east-southeast of Charleston, S.C., with maximum sustained winds of about 30 mph. The storm was moving to the northeast at 16 mph.
There were no coastal watches or warnings related to either storm, the hurricane center said.
