Schindler's List fails to sell at auction

LOS ANGELES, July 30 (UPI) -- A 14-page original document naming 801 men saved from the Holocaust by Oskar Schindler went unsold in an eBay auction, the owner said.

The typewritten list is one of only four copies of "Schindler's List." Originating from Itzhak Stern, an aide to the German industrialist Schindler, it had an opening bid of $3 million. By the end of the auction Sunday, there were no bidders but plenty of attention, the British news service Sky News reported.

Eric Ganzin of Los Angeles, who listed the item, was not disappointed, saying, "Over half a million people viewed the auction on eBay, and we had more than 13,000 watchers [individuals monitoring a potential sale[, which is exceptionally high."
