Second body recovered from Hudson River, site of fatal boat crash

PIERMONT, N.Y., July 28 (UPI) -- A body pulled from New York's Hudson River Sunday appeared to be that of a man killed in a boating accident in which a bride-to-be also died, authorities said.

Rockland County Sheriff's Office Chief William Barbera said it appeared the body was that of Mark Lennon, 30, Mid-Hudson News Network reported. Lennon was to have been the best man for the fiance of Lindsey Stewart, also 30, whose body was recovered Saturday.

Four other people on board the 21-foot speedboat, including the groom, Brian Bond, 35, were injured when it crashed into a barge Friday night near the Tappan Zee Bridge.

The boat's operator, Jojo John, 35, of Nyack, allegedly had been drinking, and has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and vehicular assault, authorities said.

WNBC-TV, New York, reported the second body was spotted by someone on a personal water craft. Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco said the body was found a mile downstream from where the body of a woman, believed to be that of Stewart, was found Saturday.

Falco said the bodies were taken to a medical examiner's office for official identification and to determine the cause of death. He said neither victim was wearing a life jacket.
