SACRAMENTO, July 24 (UPI) -- One of the two bodies found Tuesday in a Southern California park was identified as a man sought in an alleged double murder in Sacramento, investigators said.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said the body of Abraham Felmley, 32, was found Tuesday next to the body of an unidentified male in a rural park in Huntington Beach.
Felmley had been considered a person of interest in the deaths of 84-year-old Chelsey Felmley and his son, Dennis Felmley, 64. Their bodies were found in their burned-out house by Sacramento Metro Fire arson investigators Monday.
The cause of their death and their relationship to Abraham Felmley were not immediately known.
The Sacrament County Sheriff's Office said in a written statement Abraham Felmley was a wanted parolee who may have carjacked a vehicle in Merced, about 100 miles south of the Sacramento, around the same time as the fire. The suspect took the victim's pickup truck and left behind a car that had been missing from the burned home in Sacramento.
A woman identified as Felmley's mother, who lives in Orange County, told KNBC-TV in Los Angeles she and other family members had been warned by police to be on alert.
"We were in hiding," she said, adding she did not know who the other man found in the park was and that all of her relatives appeared to be safe.
