MONTGOMERY, Ala., July 22 (UPI) -- An Alabama mother says the robber who took her purse last weekend also got her newborn son's ashes that were in an urn inside it.
Monica Thomas of Montgomery is asking that anyone with information that will help her get back her son's remains to come forward, WSFA-TV, Montgomery reported Monday.

Thomas said she was robbed Friday night near the intersection of East Park Avenue and Johnson Street.
She told the TV station she had complications during her pregnancy and her son survived only 2 hours after birth. She had planned to bury the ashes next to her mother's grave.
Police say they want to find the urn, with the name Jamar Simmons Jr. printed on it, even if they do not find the thief.
