CHATHAM, Mass., July 17 (UPI) -- Six great white sharks were spotted in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Chatham, Mass., the pilot of a shark conservation boat said.
George Breen of Cape Cod Shark Hunters, a shark-tagging and conservation group, said he saw the sharks near the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge -- a group of uninhabited and remote sand islands in a natural harbor between Nantucket Sound and the Atlantic Ocean -- The Boston Globe reported Wednesday.

The area is accessible only by boat, said Dave Brownlie, manager of the refuge, who added no beaches were closed after the sighting.
There were shark sightings Monday and Tuesday several hundred yards off Chatham, the first confirmed sightings of the year.
