NTSB investigates Alaska plane crash that killed 10

SOLDOTNA, Alaska, July 8 (UPI) -- The National Transportation Safety Board says it is determining what caused the crash of a plane that killed the pilot and nine passengers in Soldotna, Alaska.

The crash occurred Sunday morning at Soldotna Airport. Emergency responders found the single propeller aircraft, a DHC-3T, engulfed in flames, NBC News reported.

The plane was owned by Rediske Air, and the pilot and co-owner, Walter Rediske, 42, was described by a company spokesman as "a highly experience pilot and lifelong Alaskan."

Cliff Johnson, chief of the NTSB office in Anchorage, Alaska, said everyone aboard the plane died in the crash, although it is unclear if the accident occurred during a takeoff or landing.
