MANCHESTER, Ky., June 7 (UPI) -- A medical helicopter crashed in Kentucky, killing three crew members returning to their base after transporting a patient, officials said Friday.
The victims -- a pilot, fight paramedic and flight nurse -- had flown a patient to a hospital in London, Ky., before their helicopter crashed Thursday night in Manchester, where the aircraft is based, WYMT-TV, Hazard, reported.

No one else was on the helicopter when it went down.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office said the crash was near an elementary school. Officials said U.S. 421 was temporarily closed in both directions near the crash site.
No other details were reported.
