FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., June 6 (UPI) -- A woman traveling to Florida for rehab was arrested after allegedly consuming alcoholic drinks and disrupting a Spirit Airlines flight, officials say.
The incident occurred Tuesday night as Heather Lynn Dykman, 40, of Rockville, Md., flew from Baltimore to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.
A flight attendant told Broward County sheriff's deputies Dykman was denied more alcohol after she had already consumed two vodka drinks. Dykman then became angry and allegedly used abusive language, a complaint affidavit stated.
Before she was arrested at the Fort Lauderdale airport, Dykman used profanity and slurs in front of passengers at the airport concourse, the affidavit said.
Dykman was charged with using racist, profane and abusive language while aboard the plane, and yelling and disturbing the flight, the report stated.
During a court hearing Wednesday, Broward Judge John Hurley ordered a $250 bond for Dykman's release from jail.
"I'm going to order you not to consume any alcohol while you are out, all right, ma'am?" Hurley said. "And you have to stay off Spirit Airlines. I'm sure Spirit's already noted that."
