JONESBORO, Ga., May 23 (UPI) -- Federal authorities are looking into why pieces of a Boeing 747 cargo plane landed on a woman's house in Georgia, officials said.
The plane parts landed on the Pamela Ware's Clayton County home Sunday afternoon, WSB-TV, Atlanta, reported. The house is located under a direct flight path to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
Federal investigators said the cargo plane, which was operated by China Airlines, was coming from Anchorage, Alaska, and was about five miles from the airport when a section of its wing ripped off and broke into at least two pieces -- one of which hit Ware's home and the other landed in the parking lot in front of a Walmart. No one was injured.
Ware said she is thankful she survived.
"I just keep thinking of what could have happened," Ware said.
The incident is under investigation.
