Johnson's family said the young man had run a half marathon in New York City recently with "zero problem."
Mary Beth Deal said her son, a 2012 Penn State graduate who moved to Pittsburgh recently, had been "on top of the world" after getting an accounting job at Deloitte & Touche.
"He was a wonderful, wonderful son," she said. "He loved to read, he was smart, he was kind and handsome."
