At the courthouse, Kimberly K. Hartzell, 48, allegedly stabbed her former husband after their divorce was finalized, authorities said.

A Johnson County Sheriff's Office news release stated after the divorce was finalized, Hartzell drove to a sporting goods store and bought a knife. She then returned to the courthouse later in the day to exchange paperwork with her ex, at which time she slashed him with the knife, injuring him.

Authorities said Hartzell will likely be charged with attempted murder later this week.
