Investigation into Texas bus crash faults driver

DALLAS, April 22 (UPI) -- A bus crash in Dallas this month that killed three people has been blamed on the driver's failure to stay in his lane, investigators said.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Lonny Haschel said Monday the preliminary investigation showed no defects in the bus, and faulted driver Loyd Rieve, 65.

The bus was transporting senior citizens to an Oklahoma casino April 11 when it veered off the President George Bush Turnpike and struck a concrete barrier. Two people died that day and a third died of her injuries Sunday. About 40 people were injured, KXAS-TV, Dallas/Fort Worth, reported.

The newspaper noted at least two lawsuits had been filed as a result of the crash.
