RIALTO, Calif., April 19 (UPI) -- A man who was rejected after a private lap dance by a stripper at a club in California shot and wounded the woman and then committed suicide, police said.
The 46-year-old man, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene in the city of Rialto Thursday night, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The unidentified woman, who was shot in the head and is in her 20s, was in stable condition, the report said.
After shooting the woman, the man turned a high-powered semiautomatic handgun on himself, police said.
The shooting occurred in a private lap-dance room at 7:30 p.m.
Police said the shooter had just received a lap dance and then made advances toward the dancer, who rejected him..
The man was a regular customer, a representative of the club said.
