In affidavit, woman names husband as Kaufman County, Texas, killer

KAUFMAN, Texas, April 18 (UPI) -- The wife of a former justice of the peace told police her husband killed two Texas prosecutors and the wife of one of the victims, police records show.

Police released an affidavit in which Kim Lene Williams said her husband, Eric Williams, shot and killed Kaufman County prosecutor Mark Hasse, District Attorney Mike McLelland and McLelland's wife Cynthia, WFAA-TV, Dallas/Fort worth, reported Thursday.

She has been arrested and charged with capital murder in all three deaths.

The affidavit says Kim Williams, 46, "described in detail her role, along that of her husband, Eric Williams, who she reported to have shot to death Mark Hasse on January 31, 2013 and Michael and Cynthia McLelland on March 30, 2013."

Eric Williams, a former county justice of the peace, was arrested Saturday on a charge of making a terroristic threat in an email sent to county officials, and evidence linked him to the slaying of Hasse, 57, Mike McLelland, 63, and Cynthia McLelland, 65, the television station said.

Hasse and Mike McLelland were involved in the prosecution of Eric Williams, who was convicted of stealing three computer monitors from Kaufman County and lost his license to practice law in 2012. During the trial Hasse revealed Williams had made threats against an ex-girlfriend and a lawyer, prompting Williams to make additional threats against Hasse and Hasse's family, WFAA-TV said.
