County Attorney Michael Fritz said a woman called 911 Wednesday and said Stensrud had shot and killed 69-year-old Geraldine Kading and was going to kill himself.

When police arrived at the scene, Kading was dead with an arrow in her chest and Stensrud was alive, lying on a bathroom floor, Fitz said. An arrow was protruding from his chest and a crossbow was on the floor next to him.

Stensrud was transported to a hospital. His condition was not reported.
