Obama schedule for Thursday, April 11

WASHINGTON, April 11 (UPI) -- President Obama will award Army Chaplain Emil J. Kapaun, a captain, the Medal of Honor posthumously for conspicuous gallantry Thursday, The White House said.

The daily schedule also indicated Obama will:

-- Receive, with Vice President Joe Biden, the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office.

-- Meet with members of the Financial Services Forum as part of the organization's day-long Spring Meeting.

-- Conduct a conference call with more than 100 local elected officials, and business and community leaders to discuss summer and year-round paths to youth employment.

-- Award Kapaun the Medal of Honor posthumously for his extraordinary heroism while serving with the 3d Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division during combat operations against an armed enemy at Unsan, Korea, and as a prisoner of war from Nov. 1-2, 1950.

-- Meet with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in the Oval Office.
