Crime scene dogs examined, one euthanized

BOISE, Idaho, April 10 (UPI) -- One of 64 pit bull dogs brought to Boise, Idaho, from the scene of a triple homicide was euthanized, an Idaho Humane Society spokesman said.

The dogs were found at a crime scene in southeastern Idaho and taken by truck to Boise Monday, KTVB-TV, Boise, reported.

Investigators believe the dogs were part of a dogfighting operation at a ranch near Holbrook, where the bodies of two men and one woman were found last week, the television station said.

Veterinarians expected the dogs to have injuries consistent with neglect and fighting.

"We're expecting things like skin conditions, infections and possibly injuries, things you see in neglect situations," said Hannah Parpart of the Idaho Humane Society.
