WORTHAM, Texas, April 5 (UPI) -- Slain Kaufman County, Texas, District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife were buried Friday after an emotional funeral in Wortham, Texas.

The small First Baptist Church overflowed with about 300 mourners, and Pastor Justin Colquette presided in a service The Dallas Morning News described Friday as "a more wrenching experience than Thursday's memorial service in Sunnyvale, where Gov. Rick Perry was among the speakers. Today, no politics, only personal memories and painful outpourings."

Dr. Claude McLelland, Mike McLelland's cousin, told the newspaper of two bomb threats prior to the funeral service -- one at the church and the other at the home of Mike McLelland's mother in Wortham. Neither deterred funeral-goers.

A long procession stretched down the road to the cemetery after the service. McLelland was interred in a casket, with an urn containing his wife's ashes within, the newspaper noted.
