ANCHORAGE, Alaska, April 1 (UPI) -- An Alaska State Troopers helicopter crashed overnight, killing the three people on board, authorities said Sunday.

The helicopter was carrying the pilot, a trooper and a stranded snowmobiler they had picked up when it crashed near Talkeetna, Alaska Dispatch reported.

Troopers said there were "no survivors at the scene of the crash."

Troopers received a call about a snowmobiler stranded near Larson Lake about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, trooper spokeswoman Meghan Peters told Alaska Dispatch.

The helicopter located the snowmobiler about 10 p.m., landed, and picked him up but never made it to Talkeetna where medics were waiting.

Kalei Rupp of the Alaska National Guard said the Federal Aviation Administration reported the overdue helicopter about 1 a.m. Sunday, but poor weather conditions and other circumstances prevented the search from starting until about 5 a.m.

The aircraft's wreckage was located south of Larson Lake by an Alaska Air National Guard Rescue Coordination Center aircraft about 9:30 a.m.

The names of the victims had not been released.
