Hasan, 42, an Army psychiatrist, faces 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the Nov. 5, 2009, shooting rampage at Fort Hood.

Hasan, who was paralyzed in the incident, faces a possible death sentence if convicted.

Hasan's attorneys have asked that the trial be moved off base. Hasan also has offered to plead guilty if the death penalty is removed.
