Man injured in fall down ventilation shaft

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- A 70-year-old man who fell into a ventilation shaft at the Tropicana casino in Las Vegas sustained only minor injuries, the Clark County Fire Department said.

The man, who was not identified, fell through a grate and about 20 feet into the shaft outside of the casino on Tropicana Hotel property Tuesday, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

The Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Technical Rescue Team and Clark County Fire Department used a basket to free the man, who was trapped for about an hour, the newspaper said.
