Toddler drank Drano in alleged meth lab

MILTON, Fla., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- A Florida woman whose toddler drank drain cleaner allegedly used in making methamphetamine faces criminal charges.

Victoria Lauren Cain, 27, was arrested after her 3-year-old son was injured last week, the Pensacola News Journal reported. Her boyfriend, Wayne Glass, 36, and three other people have been charged.

Assistant States Attorney James Parker told the newspaper Wednesday the boy is now expected to survive. But Parker said the child has probably been permanently injured.

"He's a long way from being released from the hospital," he said.

The boy was with his mother and Glass, who is not his father, in an apartment in Milton that was allegedly used as a meth lab. Investigators say he drank Drano that had been stored in a sippy cup that he found in the bathroom.

Glass faces child cruelty and drug charges.
