Girl robbed at gunpoint by classmates

DALLAS, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- A teenager said she was held up at gunpoint while selling candy door-to-door for a Dallas school fundraiser.

Yesenia Ramirez, 13, and a friend were selling candy to finance a spring break outing for her school band Tuesday and were approached by a group of eight boys, one of whom choked her from behind and put a gun to her neck, KTVT-TV, Dallas/Fort Worth, reported Wednesday.

After she was released she was told the gun wasn't real, she said, adding she recognized the boys from school, and although no money or candy was stolen, the friend's cellphone was taken.

The Dallas police began investigating the incident after her father filed a report and said the case was being treated as a robbery.
