WASHINGTON, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- President Obama maintained the inauguration day tradition of bill signing Monday, penning his name to a proclamation and "a few nominations."
In a signing ceremony in the President's Room and surrounded by Democratic and Republican leaders from both houses of Congress, he signed a proclamation commemorating the inauguration and the nominations of Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass, for secretary of State, Jack Lew for Treasury secretary, former U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., for Defense secretary and John Brennan for CIA director.
