When Boyle was pulled over, she was traveling 17 mph over the speed limit with her three children, ages 5, 7 and 8, and family dog in the trunk of her car.

Snohomish County Superior Court Judge Thomas Wynne on Wednesday called what Boyle did the "epitome of bad parenting" when sentencing her to six months in county jail.

Boyle's children have been placed in the custody of relatives and she will have to meet the requirements established by the dependency court to see them.
