Canadian couple slain in Florida condo

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- A couple from Canada, spending the winter in Florida, were found dead in their condo in what police say is a double homicide.

The bodies of Toronto residents David Pichosky, 71, and his wife Rochelle Wise, 66, were discovered Thursday night in their Hallandale Beach, Fla., condominium. Capt. Sonia Quinones of the Hallandale Beach Police Department said the incident is being investigated as a double homicide and not a murder-suicide.

Neighbors described the victims, who had been married for about four years, as warm, friendly and religious. They said the couple could regularly be seen walking to temple on Friday evenings, The Miami Herald reported Friday.

The cause of death and motive are under investigation, Quinones said, adding the Broward County, Fla., Sheriff's Office is involved in the inquiry.
